So we just got back from a little Canadian weekend with Thee Oh Sees. We had a blast. There is a lot going on in our world at the moment so we've been a bit busy - sorry for the lack of updates here. We have a whole bunch of upcoming shows, check out the shows section to your right - these include shows with SEX CHURCH, a mini-tour with PYGMY SHREWS, a couple of shows with RUSSIAN CIRCLES, and a little European tour in December. If any of you euros cant make it to see us in December, we will be back in January for a little over a month, and we are very excited.

We have a new LP done, it will be out in March on Sacred Bones Records and much touring in support of it shall follow. We have also been informed that Karmic Swamp Records is repressing the "Think" 7" that came out last year. There were only a handful of those pressed so hopefully people that missed out on getting them can grab one now. We will post here when it is available.

Also, thanks to everyone who has ordered anything from the webstore, your orders have either shipped, or are shipping this week. Thanks for your patience.

So here is what is going on in our world...

January 1st we will be playing a show in Brooklyn with SALVATION, SEASICK and others, this will be our last show before we head out on tour, I will post more details when I receive them.

From January 6th-16th The Men and Nomos will be hitting the West Coast like a big bag of blubber. All the dates are almost filled, you can see details to your left in the "gigs" section.

For this tour will we have a repress of our split cassette with Nomos on Vinyl Rites with all new artwork done by Rich Samis (Who also plays drums for us full time now). We will also have a 7" single on Karmic Swamp Records with one original jam and a DEVO cover. Lastly, we've put aside the last copies of the "Immaculada" LP repress to bring along with us as well.

When we get back from tour we will be playing a "in store" show on January 23rd with NOMOS and our buddies in PREGNANT at Generation Records in NYC. I believe it's free and will be a matinee.

Finally, we are really excited to announce that our 3rd LP will be coming out on Sacred Bones Records sometime next year. We enjoy the hell out of that label and are looking forward to working with them.

Obviously any leftover stuff from tour will be in the webstore when we get back.

Immaculada LP is practically sold out. There's about 20 or so. We'll update the blog once they are gone. We're getting a 2nd pressing ready right now, which we will have in time for our tour.

Just got back from SXSW. We had a great time and got to hang out with rad friends and see great bands. Here is some up to date info on our happenings...

NOMOS/THE MEN - Split CS (Vinyl Rites) - this should be out early April in time for our weekend stint with Nomos. Ltd. 250 copies (100 tour, green shell pro printed tapes, 150 mailorder, red shell pro printed tapes)

Next Tuesday (3.30) we will be playing with our buds in Neon Blud who are on tour from Tampa right now destroying cities all around. It's at Death By Audio and White Suns and Weed Hounds are also playing, heres a flyer...

After that show we have our Nomos weekend. After that we will be going into the studio with Ben Greenberg (Zs, Pygmy Shrews) @ Python Patrol to record what will comprise our 3rd LP...

On the 23rd of April we will be playing our record release show for the Immaculada LP with Nomos, Pygmy Shrews, MLU, and Remnants. This show will be fun, and we can't wait to finally have the 2nd LP available to all of you.

Most likely taking it easy and writing during most of May but keep your ears open for other shows/happenings.

First off, thanks to all who came out to our shows within the last 2 weeks, we had a blast playing.

Some news is that though we recorded an LP and more's worth of material in October (LP will be out in March, leftover songs will be put on a cassette, also to be out in March) we are going to be recording 5 or so more brand new songs in early February. We've been writing up a storm and were really happy with how these jams are coming out.

Some other good news is that our friend Nick from the talented band Seasick is turning 25 on March 12 and to celebrate his quarter of a century of life he is throwing a smashing birthday show with the likes of PISSED JEANS, RIVAL MOB, SOCIAL CIRKLE, RATIONAL ANIMALS, SEASICK and yours truly. We are super excited to play this show and it should be a fucking blast. Mark your calendars.

We have a show coming up this Saturday the 16th of January at good ol' Tommy's Tavern in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. We are playing with some great bands and there will be 2 dollar beers so come on down. GENERAL INTEREST from Boston will be playing and they create the perfect mix of the Minutemen and Big Boys worship and it rules.

Saturday, The Men will be heading to Boston to play on the Harvard campus with General Interest and Vile Bodies, it should be a great time, there is a flyer with all the info that I posted a few posts down.

The following Friday we are playing at 538 Johnson Ave with Philly punks LEATHER and just confirmed that after a bit of a hiatus, Brooklyn's PREGNANT will be playing as well, and we are stoked.

As far as our new recordings go, we are exploring our options and should hopefully have a full length LP out in early 2010...

FUCK "THE GUEST TOWELS"

This might not even be needed considering this band is way below mediocre and won't even make much of a difference because they are shit. BUT, tonight a bunch of dear friends of ours performed a Ramones cover set in the spirit of rad punk and halloween only to be fucked over by these bunch of dicks...Not only did our friends lend these dudes amps, but were super supportive and nice to these guys. Later on in the evening our friend Russell noticed that his custom telecaster and fender jazz bass were missing. We assumed that someone might have taken them by accident. I called the singer Victor of The Guest Towels to ask about the situation and he got really defensive and kind of scared. We were obviously weird-ed out. They show up back at the show not only with a trunk full of their own equipment (so obviously they had their own shit so nothing could have been mixed up) but they also had Russell's TWO guitars along with them.

These dudes didn't even try for the most part to deny their wrong doings and mostly felt embarrassed and scared because there was a show full of people backing Russell (who by the way is one of the nicest and most respectable dudes in the music scene right now). All in all these kids are horrible, equipment stealing scumbags and no one in the Brooklyn/NYC/Long Island music scene or ANYWHERE for that matter should book this band.

Don't let scumbags ruin a good thing. Punk/Hardcore has always been about a mutual trust between people, especially with sharing gear, I know that I personally never have a problem lending out shit when a band is in need, but this just makes shit more complicated and lame.

Fuck this band, and do NOT book them. here is their myspace link http://www.myspace.com/redautomatic - This was their old name but they have since changed it to The Guest Towels. Please be aware that these dudes are only out for themselves and will fuck you over in a heartbeat because we experienced this first hand tonight.

It pains me to say this because their drummer Billy is a terrific kid (and a fantastic drummer) and has nothing to do with this mess but some shit can not go unsaid. Victor and the other red-headed fuck in this band on the other hand can go fuck themselves.
